Combo 39.

Combo 39 comes from pages 87-93 of the Winter 2002 Camaro Performers.

Combo 39 uses a 391 stroker crank and Holley heads to make 453 HP and ft-lbs of torque. Some nice components are used in this combination.

Combo 40.

Combos 40-43 come from allchevyengines.com.

Combo 40 uses the World Products S/R Torquer heads, a Performer RPM intake, and a moderate to high-performance camshaft. This combination produces 366 HP and 372 ft-lbs of torque.

Displacement: 350 cu. in.
Heads: World Products S/R Torquer
Intake: Edelbrock Performer RPM
Camshaft: Crane Cams 278, with 278° of duration, 222° of duration @ 0.050 in. lift, and 0.470 in. lift

Comp. Ratio: 10.0:1
MAX HP: 366 @ 5500
MAX Torque: 372 @ 4000

Combo 41.

Combo 41 uses the same components from Combo 40 except the engine is 383 cu. in. and the intake is a regular Performer. Strangely, this combination makes 7 less HP than the previous example. Perhaps this can all be attributed to the RPM intake. The stroker engine does produce 39 more ft-lbs of torque, as is expected from the longer stroke.

Displacement: 383 cu. in.
Heads: World Products S/R Torquer
Intake: Edelbrock Performer
Camshaft: Crane Cams 278, with 278° of duration, 222° of duration @ 0.050 in. lift, and 0.470 in. of lift
Pistons: TRW hypereutectic flat tops
Rods: Eagle forged
Crank: Elgin cast steel
Comp. Ratio: 10.0:1
MAX HP: 359 @ 5000
MAX Torque: 411 @ 3500

Combo 42.

Combos 42 uses a 383 cu. in. engine with Sportsman II heads, a Performer RPM intake, and a more aggressive cam than Combo 41. This makes 55 more HP and 41 more ft-lbs of torque.

Displacement: 383 cu. in.
Heads: World Products Sportsman II
Intake: Edelbrock Performer RPM
Camshaft: Crane Cams 284, with 284° of duration, 228° of duration @ 0.050 in. lift, and 0.488 in. of lift

Rods: Eagle forged
Crank: Elgin cast steel
Comp. Ratio: 10.0:1
MAX HP: 414 @ 6000
MAX Torque: 452 @ 4500

Combo 43.

Combo 43 uses even better heads than Combo 42, and a moderate roller cam is used. This combo makes 22 more HP and 4 less ft-lbs of torque.

Displacement: 383 cu. in.
Heads: Dart Pro 1 aluminum, with 2.05/1.60 in. valves
Intake: Edelbrock Performer RPM
Camshaft: Comp Cams hydraulic roller, with 244° of duration @ 0.050 in. lift, and 0.525 in. of lift

MAX HP: 436 @ 5500
MAX Torque: 448 @ 4000

Combo 44.

Combo 44 comes from page 3 of the August '98 small Summit catalog.

This engine is almost identical to Combo 19. Although less information is given, maybe this combo is still helpful. It uses a 383 cu. in. stroker engine with Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads. The roller cam is just a little more aggressive than the cam in Combo 19.

Displacement: 383 or 385 cu. in.
Heads: Trick Flow Specialties Twisted Wedge

Combo 45.

Combo 45 comes from pages 29-31 of Engines 2000.

Combo 45 uses a 383 cu. in. stroker engine with World Products S/R Torquer cylinder heads and a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft. Since the engine is built strictly as a torque-producing engine, the combination produces 338 HP and 426 ft-lbs of torque.

Combo 46 comes from pages 25-29 of the March 1990 issue of Hot Rod Magazine.

Combo 46 uses a 420 cu. in. stroker small block. In the article, this engine is to be used as a sleeper engine for a 1985 Monte Carlo SS. The ignition is computerized, but an engine without a computer could probably see similar results. This engine produces 425 HP and 446 ft-lbs.
